Fairshare

FairShare

We partnered with the Raoul Wallenberg Institute, RISE and the city of Helsingborg to develop FairShare – the world’s first certification system for equitable environments.

FairShare is a tool that ensures equality in cities and public spaces. It serves as a concrete resource for decision-makers and clients committed to making real change while adhering to legal requirements regarding anti-discrimination, accessibility, and the goals of Agenda 2030. This systematic approach integrates equity throughout the urban development process. Through analysis, dialogue, and clear guidelines, we help our clients create spaces for everyone – regardless of age, gender, income, background, religion, or disability.

The certification covers urban planning, accessibility to city services, and communal spaces such as squares, parks, libraries, schools, and sports facilities. The process involves clients from start to finish to ensure long-term results and increased social sustainability.
FairShare helps municipalities and organizations create cities where everyone has equal rights to access urban spaces.

Equity as a standard for the future

FairShare incorporates equality into every step of the planning process, from master plans to completed buildings and public spaces. Our ambition is to make equity a natural standard and a competitive advantage for the cities of the future.

Certified projects include:

  • Helsingborg’s urban development project People’s Walk
  • Arvika Municipality’s master plan
  • Ängelholmshem’s development plan for a residential area
