Tengbom golf course design takes you from concept to finished course – from sounding board to executing a complete master plan, and from details to monitoring the construction process. Here are just some of the projects we’ve completed in Sweden and around the world.

European tour course Lycke, Marstrand, Sweden

Client: Golf of Course Marstrand, Kungälv

18 holes in the nature reserve surrounding Tofta Manor, north of Gothenburg. The beautifully situated golf course has seaside views and the feel of a park. The generously sized greens have abundant pin placement possibilities and the wind is a constant companion. While obstacles present a challenge for skilled golfers, the course is not too long and also offers an excellent play experience for high-handicap golfers. The design focus is on quality and identity, especially through careful integration with the natural setting. In 2007, the course hosted the Ladies European Tour. Helen Alfredsson, LPGA player and winner of the British Open, contributed an essential perspective and important experience in the role of co-designer.

Black Mountain Golf Club, Thailand

Client: Black Mountain Golf Club
Assignment years: 2010 – 2019, additions 2016-17

This park course in Hua Hin was named Thailand’s best course from 2011-2019, and best in Asia Pacific from 2013-2018. Renovations from 2010-2019 made it even more exciting and playable for more categories. The layout was also changed to create more sites with views of the golf course. The stretch of course in a valley is well-planned, with numerous sites offering unobstructed views of the course. In 2015-2016, nine new holes were created, all integrating seamlessly with the existing holes.

Uddevalla Golf Club, Uddevalla

Client: Uddevalla Golf Club, Uddevalla

Rebuild an 18-hole course, with the goal of creating a modern facility with what may be Europe’s first fully accessible course in a beautiful green space. The course reopened for play in summer 2015 with new green and tee areas, and parts of the layout were modified. The greens, which were given USGA construction, are sewn with red fescue, which is a feature of the course’s environmental profile. You can read more here.
