Infrastructure

This applies to everything from pop-up parks in urban environments to airports. We optimise flows and in this process, it is crucial to facilitate the ability to navigate in an environment that is often hard to navigate. A recurrent challenge for us is to combine an architecturally high level with the necessary technical systems for operation and safety. Public spaces that are used by many get a lot of wear and tear and must be designed so that they last for a long time both from a maintenance and from a design perspective. Security aspects such as conditions for trade and other value-creating activities often become key issues in our mission, such as making sure that the travelling environments run smoothly even during the time that the renovations are going on.
It is both a responsibility and a privilege to build for the public services, which is a big thing for us. The large scale in itself means that the long-term aspects must be handled in a special way. A thorough analysis of flows, target groups, behaviours and basic conditions forms the basis for well thought through and attractive overall concept on a human scale. Our projects are complex and often have a long execution time, which is why we prefer to come on-board early on in the process. A dialogue with local authorities and other stakeholders is a necessary part of the process and we often collaborate with specialists in areas such as city planning, landscaping, restauration and interior decoration available at Tengbom.
